Mission
The mission of the Erie County Diabetes
Association is to promote a community awareness about the seriousness and risks
of Diabetes in order to facilitate the prevention, early detection and
comprehensive management of Diabetes. We believe that our personalized
information, support and referral service will promote the health of our
community overall.
History
In 1970, our organization was known as Parents of Diabetic
Children, Inc., and was formed by a group of concerned parents with diabetic
children.
In 1981, membership was extended to include all diabetic
individuals, their families and other interested persons. The group became the
Erie County Diabetes Association, Inc.,-ECDA.
It is the organization’s belief that the most effective
ways of dealing with Diabetes are: facing the denial, learning all you can about
diabetes, and having contact with other people with Diabetes and their families
who share and understand the problems you are facing in having Diabetes.
WANTED!
Volunteers for ECDA to assist with office tasks, especially
computer data entry and fund-raising activities.
Can YOU help?!
The ECDA will come to your business or hold classes, or
